Dr. Stacey Matheson BSc, DDS, MSc, Dip Perio, FRCD

Dr. Stacey Matheson has been practicing periodontics in Halifax for over 20 years, bringing a depth of experience and a genuine passion for patient care to everything she does. Originally from Glace Bay, Cape Breton, she began her career in dentistry as a dental assistant before becoming a dental hygienist and later earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University.

Driven by a strong interest in saving teeth and improving long-term oral health, Dr. Matheson pursued advanced specialty training in periodontics and implantology at the University of British Columbia, where she earned both a Master of Science and a Diploma in Periodontics. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an active member of several professional organizations, including the Canadian and American Academies of Periodontology.

Dr. Matheson is known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach. She works closely with referring dentists to ensure coordinated, well-communicated care, and is deeply committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her patients. Her philosophy is simple: preserve natural teeth whenever possible, and provide expert solutions when replacement is needed.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, painting, and playing the Cape Breton fiddle. She also loves being outdoors and relaxing at her cottage in Cape Breton.
